Jesus loves Porn Stars at least that's how the theory goes. We all know that Jesus would simply adore Porn Stars if they weren't but for now he is rather fond of them, and that's where the matter rests. Since Ron Jeremy is considered quite a lovely fellow personally then I imagine he is regarded quite highly by Catholics despite his Jewish heritage. This post is not about Jesus loving Porn Stars, however I would like to point out that Jesus may love Porn Stars but what does God, being the parent think about this? I suppose like any parent he has told Jesus all about the birds and the bees in his or her parental way.
This post is about Internet censorship issues, well a sort of censorship which was inspired by a recent email sent to me from Ell at Willful Damage regarding the possible introduction of the "Clean Feed" Internet filtering device here and her Blog having recently been rewarded by a Splash Page from a concerned reader who considered her material not to be appropriate.
Before I begin my rant I must warn you to take my scattered and raw thoughts on this matter as would a rowdy crowd at a pub having turns on a soap box. It's an open blather.
Firstly, I wanted to remark that all this knitting of brows and staunch healthy cleanliness in regards to pornography on the Internet has produced some very interesting arguments as to why it is so important to shield, plug, and plot against the scourge of indecency available at our finger tips. Pornography in some form or other on the Internet has been wafting about since the 1980s, so let us generally say that more then likely this terror of excessive sexual behavior has blazoned innocent retinas for the past twenty years at a stretch.
Going back about thirty years ago we had the onslaught of home pornography as perpetrated by the video industry, those big plastic cassettes that rattled and slid into the mouths of VCR players. Easily accessible moving images of people in acts of shameless discourtesy towards each other.
Around and before the quickly copied video cassette, there was the 'smoker' reel that could be projected onto the wall with flickering fuckers in feasts of flesh and fever.
About seventy years or more before that magazines and picture books pretty much did the same thing only the naughty imps didn't move, they just posed in impure impropriety.
Now from 1835 onwards we had the pleasure of nude photographs in varying forms.
We've pretty much arrived at two hundred years of smut in some form or another being handed around amongst the eager and horny throng. Debasing our "common" values and corrupting pious souls who would otherwise pass through the gates without having to declare their sins to customs.
Then we consider centuries of sex in some way infiltrating civilisation - literature, drawings, painting, dirty stories verbally told, actual acts of sex, fantasies, voyeurism, exhibitionism, prostitution, all rife through-out history of humankind and yet the last twenty years is a conundrum for those who wish to keep the cum brushed under the carpet and the perversity behind closed doors.
Then consider why our world has changed. Why bit by bit society has shifted to become less repressive in certain ways. Sure we have a lot of it still about but rarely are we burning witches, or worshiping the sun the way we used to. Why has the Church bent its views fractionally to acknowledge homosexuality under its roof, why have we generally become desensitized to skimpily clad models on soap commercials, why has the word "fuck" or "shit" or "bastard" been reduced to a mild mannerism of expressive disdain, why are lingerie sections in departments stores so expansive, why, why, why? Why has our once poignant point of obstinacy been watered down over time?
Masturbation was once deemed unhealthy, a sign of weakness, a very bad habit, and now it's an accepted yet ignored passage of youth. Why can't the censors just admit they are wrong about these things?
Will then in three hundred years pornography be an open, legitimate form of entertainment. In future generations will the classification codes include "soft core sex, full nudity, some penetration, parental guidance recommended"? Do young people have a say in all this "Clean Feed" and anti-porn debate? Would I trust my son to make decisions on his own? Sure, if I looked at the hundreds of idiotic and stupid decisions I've made over my lifetime thus far, oh I forgot, I'm an "adult", and I'm allowed to make idiotic and stupid decisions because wisdom over time has taught me how to do so. Yet age seems to be this cryptic measurement of authority. Alright then, how old was Stalin? How old was Jack the Ripper? How old are the people in charge of hungry nations, war torn countries? How old are these people? Surely they must be about fifteen years old I would imagine - if I was following some code of age deeming intelligence to make decisions.
Also not forgetting the atrocities perpetrated by cultures that have repressed sexual values like the Church with its incredibly high rate of child abuse, not to mention the army of any country who not only seek to kill men but also make a point of raping women as well. Those are the most extreme forms of sexual repression I can think of, conservative religion and the army. Oh, should also mention boxing, why is it even a question they struggle over, sex before a fight? To have even the question means someone or people thought that sexual frustration would bring out the killer in someone. How right they probably are.
Back to Internet pornography. What really is the main issue here? Are people concerned about seeing sex and then after they've seen it what happens? Are they concerned for the youngsters seeing sex? Obviously there are many reasons but I wonder if they think we've been skipping along without harm or hindrance through-out history, without sexual atrocities and perversions riddling our society, and then wham, along comes the Internet over the past twenty years and we have this monster to fight. We suddenly have a battle on our hands to keep our screens clean. I find the Wiggles offensive, can we block them also?
I'm all for voluntary self-censorship, people making decisions not to thrust their views in other people's faces. That to me is a key feature of having intelligence. I don't spam this Blog to people I don't know. I don't advertise it on other sites like offensive commercials by companies with opinions I find thick. I don't go door to door telling people to read Fuckeries. It exists within its own space, you find it and like it, then good. You find it, and don't like it then so what, click, click, click goes the mouse. Google the K-Mart clothes department if you were trying to "look up a skirt", to buy that is.
The problem with our "life sexual" to borrow a Lawrence Durrell phrase as I have previously mentioned, is that it is an organic thing. People's sexuality can change and it can change biologically without them knowing. Look at the percentage of sixty year olds to the percentage of eighteen year olds with dirty magazines under the bed. As people get older they retire some of their perhaps once more liberal perspectives not for any other reason then their sex drive decreases, their libido drops, their health deteriorates, their bodies change. Ask them at eighteen if ever they were tempted to or attended a strip club, or fantasized about the girl next door, or wanked over a bikini clad beach girl, or imagined fucking their teacher - if memory be truthful to them and they to memory they would probably say "Yes". How things change and change in flocks of generational control.
Another issue with the "life sexual" is experience. Sex can tie in great emotions, and people are sensitive at the best of times when it comes to their most vulnerable naked selves, so if that in any way is tarnished it probably alters their entire outlook on sexuality as a whole. If people have a negative experience ongoing or infrequent with anything they often turn sour with that particular thing.
We also have to consider that people adopt certain beliefs that have particular sexual disciplines that relate to celibacy, and these beliefs are often strapped to a whole bundle of psychological instabilities relating to existence, personality, need to belong, purpose of life, inevitable death etc. Sex is considered a weakness, but I beg to differ, that religion is in itself a temptation and therefore a weakness.
Then comes general parenting attitudes. Rearing children. This is a whole other post but how many children grow up to be arseholes, junkies, thugs, bigots, thick headed, conservative, narrow minded, rude, intolerant, mean, nasty, selfish and all without the benefit of pornography just simply with their good parents and peers as role models? Parenthood is a balancing act, you fucked long and hard to get the little tyke into the world and after that it's all creation theory and stalks with baskets. Yet, I be somewhat harsh with this, but it is only gist I impart with these statements. Parents want control (hence parental control), suddenly they have created and can play god for a bit. Of course I am not saying bookmark porn sites for your sprogs to get a better understanding of the world, but surely we have by now understood that learning and discussion is a better preventative measure then simply hiding the porn videos under a pile of dirty Y-fronts which were where I found my dads and got my fix as a teen (and subsequently never stopped).
Finally. Here's the punchline to this whole debacle. Worst of all, most terribly of all, we've been able to think about sex since we have existed in thought. Take away all the external and tangible items that stink of relish, we have our minds. That is what terrifies and confuses the whole bloody argument, that somehow and somewhere we want and or don't want, we do or pretend we don't do, up in the recesses of our minds produce SMUT. The only answer to this one is lobotomy and yet somehow I think we are passed that stage, or, and let's not think about this, a filtering system of the mind, how scary a thought or non-thought is that?
Anyway, I feel better now for having ranted a bit and Fuckeries - will resume normal perversity in the next day or two.

Everyone needs a good rant - and I largely agree with you. I link you on my blog, but I do give the advice 18+ as I do for other links with adult material or themes. I do so people can choose for themselves as you say...
You are sexy when you wear ranty pants. God Rups I though my head was going to explode today reading the plethora of articles appearing in the Australian and elsewhere, I am happy that people are talking though -- I'm glad you are talking!

Mutley,
I rant frequently, sometimes in my sleep, infact this Blog was going to be called Randy Rants. Happy Birthday dear Mutley.
Rups xo
Ell,
it has got to be said one way or another, funny isn't it though that people have been publicly nattering about these issues for centuries - it must be working as change has been occurring slowly and steadily.
